Inhale deeply without forcing yourself.

Exhale and feel that all the tension in your body is breathed out with your exhalation.

Inhale deeply without forcing yourself.

What is Reiki?

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "Higher Power” or “Universal” and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki can be translated as, "universal life force energy” or “spiritually guided life force energy."

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is often administered by "laying on hands" but can also be administered without touch. Reiki is based on the idea that an unseen, "life force energy," or Qi, flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress. If it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Reiki can be used as a preventive health care measure and is complementary to other healing modalities. Some of the physical and emotional benefits of Reiki include promoting relaxation, relief from physical and emotional pain, a calmer mind and body, the release of stress and tension, and a rebalance of energy.

Tarot Tuesdays

Lares Feliciano is an artist and tarot reader. She acquired her first tarot deck from a small occult shop while growing up in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ever since those pre-teen years she has been fascinated by the cards and the stories they hold. In 2008 her tarot practice expanded as she began studying and reading the cards with other practitioners in the SF Bay Area. Since then she has continued to read cards for friends, family, and colleagues from Oakland to Atlanta. Today she lives full time in Southern Colorado where she makes art and continues to study and read the tarot. You can book a tarot reading with her here and you can learn more about her and her artwork here.
